Topic Three Assignment (Creature/Other) #1, DUE Tuesday, October 2, at 10 AM:

This assignment was meant to once again test our skills in interpreting information that is given in a written form. The creature that I chose was actually a description of Sea Hair by Charles Darwin. In my interpretation of this project I chose to not try and not decipher what the description was trying to explain. I in turn chose to take the aspects that were explained in the description and create my own type of creature.

The next object I chose to depict was the description of the Native American. I understand that the description did have a certain bias and racism towards it. I did not focus on defying or creating something else from the description, I just chose to only depict what the description said, exactly how it said. The only thing that I added which I do feel in turn added towards to the racism of the piece was the arrow. I had already done this study of this person in a life drawing class and I felt that this movement and representation of this person properly depicted this racist description.
